I have no doubt, you have seen these Urban Bush Babe sister's popping up on the pages of your favourite fashion magazines and I'm not talking Olsen or Hilton sisters!

This weeks #fashionfridayfix is two sister's, twins in fact Cipriana & TK Quann. I "had" to feature these two New York based sisters who are originally from Baltimore. To me they are representing a movement of young inspiring black women, who dare to wear their hair natural and are not afraid to express their creative sense of fashion.

Sharing with you all, my favourite looks from these Urban Bush Babe's;

1/ Sukhumvit Road

Sukhumvit Road

Sukhumvit Road, is the longest road in Thailand, and there is "lots" happening on this busy street, It is buzzing from morning to night, non stop!

When I visited, I stayed on Suckhumvit road and found it to be "such" a convenient location, you have everything there from street food, restaurants, café's, market's, shopping malls's, bars and clubs. Something for everyone all within walking distance, or, if your feet cant carry you any further, just jump in to a  Tuk tuk. I was taking Tuk tuk's everywhere, loved it!

Sukhumvit Night Market

You discover lots of little markets around Bangkok. Due to limited time there, I only managed to pass by a couple with one of them being Sukhumvit night market, as that was suitably situated next to my hotel! There I found all sorts, from clothes, fake goods, DVD's, luggage...you name it, they had it!

2/ Wat Pho- Temple of the Reclining Buddha

There is no way you could miss the Temples in Bangkok! Everywhere you go, you can see the gold roof tops glistening in the sun. I visited Wat Pho, which is one of the largest and oldest Temples in Bangkok, you will find over "1000" images of the Buddha here!



Those are some BIG feet! Beautifully inset with mother of pearl, the feet indicate 108 auspicious symbols of Buddha


















I tried to cover most of the Temples grounds. It felt like every turn you took, there was always an opening leading you in to another courtyard.

       
















Tip- When visiting a Temple, always remember to wear long skirt or trousers and if you happen to be wearing a sleeveless top, carry a scarf with you in case you need to cover your arms. Keep a bottle of water on you too, as it can get extremely hot walking around the grounds.

3/ Floating Market- Damneon Saduak

When I visited Bangkok, aside from the Temples the Floating Market is what I "really" wanted to experience. We (hubby and I) hired a driver for the day to bring us there and back. Initially we were told, it would only take 30 minutes to get there...."lies" with traffic it took us a little over an hour from Sukhumvit road, so be prepared!! 



On our boat ride along the river side, we came across all types of stalls selling souvenirs, spices, herbs and plants.

The "BEST" coconut ice cream I have "EVER" tried!

If you LOVE yourself coconut and LOVE yourself ice cream, then you "have" to try this ice cream!! Hands down, best ice cream I have ever had!

4/ Asiatique

A friend of our's had recommended we visit Asiatiqe. It is described as an open air mall, where you have restaurants, bars, a night market, shops and a large Ferris wheel! We took the free boat service from Saphan Taskin BTS, which takes roughly about 10mins.

I am not one for heights, but I sucked it up that day (trying to overcome my fears) and the view's are pretty amazing! It just adds that little extra to your evening.














There are lots of shops and market stalls, you are lucky if you get to see all of them in one night!


















I had to share this one with you;). We "really" enjoyed the grilled chicken from this place!!

5/ Labua Hotel- Sky Bar

Last but not least, I finish this post with the famous Labua Hotel- Sky bar. Here, is where you "really" get to see some awesome views of the city.


Sky Bar, is one of the highest roof top bar's in the world and was one of the locations used to film Hangover 2!
So me, being a HUGE Hangover fan I was over the moon (nearly) to come here!

Bilum & Bilas is a social enterprise that sells an exotic collection of hand crafted goods, fairly traded bilums, jewelry and homewares made by local artisans in Papua New Guinea. I discovered this company just over a year ago on Instagram, and fell completely in love with all the colourful designs of the bilum bag's and more importantly, I really admired what this company is trying to achieve for the women of Papua New Guinea.

A LADY HAND WEAVING A BILUM

A Bilum, is a hand woven bag made from string. Traditionally the string used to make the bag, is made from plant materials. Bilum are used to carry all sorts, kinda like our version of a shopper bag. Locals use the bag to carry their shopping, personal items and even their babies!

Hi Lovelies,

Hope you all had a good weekend?!

Today, I am going to review Kindle, which had been given to me as a present recently. I had a few requests on this, after seeing my post What is in my Hand Luggage. 

I know for most of us that enjoy reading books, it has been a slightly hard sale. To make that leap from browsing your favourite book stores, to the feeling of holding a hard/paperback book, sifting through the pages, whilst trying not to get a paper cut. To then, simply swiping a screen, on this electrical devise and making online purchases of your favourite books, from the comfort of your own home.

The latter, does sound too good to be true, but it is! Don't get me wrong, I will still be purchasing "real" books, as there are certain books, which I want to keep around the house for sentimental reasons. But for the majority, it has made my life so much "easier" to keep all my current reads in one place and if I'm honest it has got me back into reading! The last couple of years I have been travelling sooo much and it has always been the thought of carrying books around with me, weighing down my suitcase, when I could use the "extra" kilos for my clothes and cosmetics, which take priority!
Plus, added books means added clutter. After moving 2 times in the last 3yrs, I am not about that clutter life....well, I'm trying not to be (she says).

Kindle Touch 3G (D01200)

So, you can imagine how happy I was to be given a Kindle! I know mine, is not the latest version out there, but, I am perfectly happy with it and it does the job:). 


It didn't take me long to work out how to use it, the menu is self explanatory and before I knew it I was able to maneuver my way around it with ease! Once I registered my Kindle to my Amazon account, which was pretty straight forward, I was able to start making those purchases!

It fit's nicely in to my handbag when travelling, and hardly takes up any room!

I would definitely recommend Kindle to anyone! It is easy to use, light weight and compact. All I need now is a cute cover for it;).
